001 Clone Chaos

[A: Lounge - Abel and Cain]

[Cain and Abel have been left alone, smaller brother still clinging to the taller one like a limpet. He knows he should let go, but this is so confusing and there is an ache in his chest that says all is not right between them. It's wrong to see his brother and not look into an identical face (albeit set in a scowl), it's wrong to see distress and grief in his eyes when they meet, and he wants it to go back to how it should be.]

...

[B: Kitchen - Rachel, Esther and Nanako]

[Having left the two failures alone the three girls have adjourned to the kitchen, where everything is set up and ready for the perfect mother to cook and clean for her family.

Or something like that.]

[C: Phone - Open to All]

[Some time later, after the emotional rollercoaster of that talk with Abel and still somewhat shell-shocked, Cain has come to himself enough for it to sink in there were others trapped here like them, and if they are all going to be working together then they needed to get acquainted. So there's a young boy's voice over the telephone, sounding calm and friendly. It's just a shame the background noise is less soothing.]

Ah-- Good evening, people of Mayfield. My name is Cain Knightlord and I've just arrived, along with most of the others in this house. Miss Alucard was already here; but the other new people are Abel Nightroad, Esther... [He didn't get her last name, so there's a small awkward pause.] ...and Nanako Dojima. I won't bore you with questions, Miss Alucard has been kind enough to explain most of what we need to know, but--

[What he says next is lost, as there comes a feminine screech from the kitchen, ranting something about 'housewives' and 'lazy priests making their own breakfast'. There's a crash of something heavy and squawk, before finally Cain's voice is audible again.]

--so I'm sure you'll agree with me. If it's not too much trouble, we'd love to get to know you all in return, so please don't be strangers.

[ooc: Part C is open to all and might be responded to by everyone in the house (Cain, Abel, Esther, Nanako and Rachel.]

You're telling me. A lot of this is unbelievable.

Since November... and yeah, mostly. They change things on us often and every new group of people has something I've never even dreamed of.

Oh, uh, Earth. 1998's Earth if that helps?

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, you're from the future?

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool!

I ask everyone from the future... but do you have flying cars?

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess so but they won't give teenagers licences to fly those as easily.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but they're more expensive too... I guess flying cars aren't practical. Still, it'd be cool to see them all.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, I am not an inventor. I can fix something if you show me how it works but I don't think I could make up how to make a car fly.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even know where to begin, or what could raise something that big and not involve rocket fuel.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, things I've worked with before.

I mean, I guess if I fixed enough flying cars I'd figure it out eventually but that's different.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, though there are a lot of people in town like that. They're the smart ones.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
There's a difference between smart and genius. I'm pretty average. Never did that great in school.

But we all have things we're good at, right?
